Costs

There is no set fee for work until I know what is involved. It would be extremely unfair to quote an hourly rate and give you no indication of the time the research may take.

So, after your initial contact to discuss the research I will prepare you a quotation based on the work involved. It may be that an hourly rate is appropriate if a large amount of research is to be carried out. In which case we would agree a budget before the research was started, so that you would never have the worry of a large bill at the end of the work.

Extra Charges

The only additional costs would be for any original documents you wished me to purchase as part of the research, any photographs you wished to be taken of gravestones, houses or churches, and any postal charges involved. (We may simply be dealing by email, in which case there would be no postal costs.)

However, these charges would all be agreed in advance so you would know exactly what to expect.

Payments

Once the work plan has been agreed I will invoice you for the agreed amount to enable me to start work on your project. If it is a large project then we will formulate a plan and payment schedule in advance.

Payments can be made by cheque, bank transfer or by Paypal.
